BBC History Weekend - Winchester

From 5-7 October, BBC History Magazine’s History Weekend will be returning for its third year to the vibrant Hampshire town of Winchester. The ancient capital of Wessex is steeped in Anglo-Saxon and medieval history and we’re delighted to again be hosting the festival in two fantastic venues in the centre of the city: the stunning 13th-century Great Hall, which houses a famous replica of King Arthur’s round table, and Ashburton Hall at nearby Elizabeth II Court.

HistoryHit Live: Dan Jones and Marina Amaral in conversation with Dan Snow

Historian, broadcaster and author Dan Jones and digital colourist Marina Amaral will be joining Dan Snow in store for a live recording of his HistoryHit Podcast, discussing their recent, bestselling book: The Colour of Time.

Dan Snow is a historian, BAFTA-winning broadcaster and television presenter. He has written several books, including Battlefield Britain and The Battle of Waterloo, as well as the upcoming On This Day in History. His HistoryHit Podcast seeks to reinvent how history is told in the digital age. With over 300 episodes of the podcast, it has quickly become the number one most listened to history podcast on iTunes with a million downloads a month.

 

This event is being held as part of a range of activity with our pop-up shop for The Colour of Time: the pop-up shop will be on the 4th floor for a week, from Monday 1st October, and will be open to the public for the majority of this time.
